Vacation with Concentrated Liquid Detergent

June 25th, 2010

If you’re packing the car for summer vacation, don’t forget to include a handy, small bottle of concentrated liquid detergent, like adcoeco, for those unexpected messes.    Concentrated means you’re not paying for added water or plastic to create a handle for carrying.  Although treating spots with adcoeco is not recommended, a small dab would be enough to hand wash an item.  Besides taking up less space in your trunk, a smaller bottle reduces the amount of carbon dioxide used in its transportation to your retailer.

In the 1960s, detergent manufacturers waged an advertising battle over who had the longest lasting suds, and detergent compounds quickly appeared in the waterways.  Suds began to appear in streams, rivers, lakes, and at the foot of Niagara Falls, piles of discolored detergent foam rose eight feet high.  Imagine that in your vacation photo!   Consumers have since realized that suds are cosmetic and have no effect on detergent performance.  In fact, too many suds will leave a residue on your clothes, making darks appear chalky, or irritating your skin.

No matter what your destination, while showing the beauty of our earth to your family, please remind them to take care of the environment.  Happy Travels!
